I’m Mike Barrett, a motorsport photographer based in Yorkshire, covering race meetings, paddocks, drag racing, historic motorsport, club events and automotive stories across the UK.
My work is not just about cars passing a camera at speed.
It is about the full story of an event — the machines, the people, the preparation, the atmosphere, the details, the tension before the run, and the moments most people walk past.
No fake-looking, overcooked editing. No generic snapshots. Just strong, properly crafted motorsport images with energy, character and purpose.
Event Experience & Accreditation
I hold permanent accreditation with both the Vintage Sports-Car Club and Straightliners, giving me regular access to cover historic motorsport, drag racing, paddock atmosphere and full event stories.
I hold public liability insurance for motorsport photography and understand the need to work safely and professionally at all times, following organiser, circuit, marshal and media-team instructions.

Historic & Classic Motorsport
Historic and classic motorsport has a character of its own.
The cars, the engineering, the sounds, the paddock atmosphere and the people around them all deserve to be photographed with respect and attention to detail.
I have a strong interest in vintage, classic and characterful machinery, from pre-war cars and historic race meetings to club motorsport, specials, saloons, sports cars and machines with real presence.
My aim is to create images that show not only the speed and movement, but also the heritage, atmosphere and personality of the event.
